In the city of Almansa at the beginning of the 19th century, in 1815, Antonio Coloma Gil appears registered as a shoemaker. After a few years in 1887, 150 shoemaker artisans were registered. The impulse of the Coloma family meant for Almansa an unprecedented industrial qualitative leap. Around the 30s of the 20th century, there were fourteen shoe factories in Almansa that brought together 1,537 workers. One of them, Andrés Sendra (founded in 1913).

In the early 60`s ,  new shoe manufacturing techniques were imposed. The technique of glued footwear, more flexible and faster to make, and the incorporation of manufacturing chains into factories, marked a decade of technical advances and new production processes, resulting in an increase in productivity and competitiveness in the sector. key factor for its internationalization.

At SARTORIAL LAB, aware of the artisan talent that exists today in Almansa, far from the large factories, we want to recover the way of doing the work of those shoemakers who made shoes AND boots, pair by pair. Almansa shoemakers stand out for having accumulated experience and know-how throughout history. They are distinguished by their resilience to innumerable stages of growth and crises that gives them maturity, as well as the necessary experience to make them true masters in artisan processes and techniques for the manufacture of high-quality footwear.

At SARTORIAL LAB we make MTO (MADE TO ORDER) shoes, that is, only by order, we make the shoes with care, one by one, this implies that we dedicate to each ORDER the maximum attention and good work that our ancestors dedicated, they did everything by hand, today we make high-quality shoes that without claiming to be 100% handmade shoes, we do  many of the tasks manually, we believe that it is the best way to do it, the design of the shoe, the selection of the necessary skins and chosen by each client, the cut, the selection of high quality soles, either in leather, Vibram or Dainite, the most comfortable lasts, the cut of the  insoles, the preparation of the seams with great care, always looking for the perfect finish of the different pieces of a shoe, depending on the chosen model, up to the last details before shipping, to finally achieve the perfect shine as our masters did.

In 2021, promoted by Víctor Sendra, Sartorial Lab gather the puzzle pieces. Our mission is the manufacture of high-quality footwear. Our work always advances hand in hand with the local master shoemakers who have contributed to making Almansa as a high-quality footwear Trademark for so many years
